Solar Hot Water System

Solar Hot Water System

How does solar hot water work?
Solar hot water (SHW) uses the sun's rays as an energy source. We install solar panels on your roof, and a solar cylinder in your premises. The panels absorb the sun's energy and the cylinder uses that energy to heat water.

How much does it save?
There is obviously more sun during the summer, and, if used correctly, solar hot water can provide all of your hot water during that time. Even in the winter, depending on conditions, it can provide one third of your hot water. Overall, solar hot water can provide two-thirds of your hot water requirement, thereby dramatically reducing your hot water bill.

Which buildings are suitable?
Solar hot water systems are extremely adaptable and suitable for installation on all domestic and commercial properties, regardless of where they are, which direction they face, or the pitch of the roof.

Which system should I buy?
Solar Future installs hot water systems from internationally-renowned, market-leading manufacturers. After analysing your requirements, and inspecting your building, we will recommend the system that will best suit your needs.

How does solar hot water work with my existing system?
Your existing boiler will automatically complement the solar hot water system, switching in when the sun's energy is too low to provide the hot water you require. Solar Future recommends using a high-efficiency condensing boiler alongside the solar hot water system, in order to maximise overall efficiency.

How much does it cost?
Each Solar Future hot water system is tailored to your individual circumstances and needs, so no definitive figure can be given. However, two facts to mention are firstly, that generous government grants are available for solar hot water systems, and secondly, that the solar panels, cylinders and installation attract only 5% VAT.

What is the next step?
Solar Future would be delighted to set up a meeting with you at your premises, in order to discuss how solar hot water can benefit you. We would then supply you with a quotation, which, if met with your approval, would be followed by a site survey, then installation, commissioning and testing. Last but not least would come our renowned after-sales service.
